In 1990, serial entrepreneur Annemarie van Gaal co-founded her first company, Independent Media in Russia. Due to its unconventional approach to the market, Independent Media rapidly grew from a company with a turnover of $ 1 million and 15 employees in 1992, within five years to the leading publishing house in Russia and the Ukraine with a turnover of almost $ 100 million and 700 employees.
Since 2000 she is active in the Netherlands as an entrepreneur, investor and supervisory boardmember of various companies.
She is a regular guest of television shows talking about financial matters and wrote five bestsellers on finances for both entrepreneurs as well as consumers. She writes weekly opinion columns in the leading Dutch newspaper ‘De Telegraaf’.
